Arsenal Youngsters on duty



Calum Chambers played 61 minutes and claimed an assist in England Under-21s’ 1–0 win at Czech Republic before being replaced by Carl Jenkinson. The defender collected Nathan Redmond’s pass and crossed for Tom Carroll to poke home from close range.

Serge Gnabry was a second-half substitute in Germany Under-21s’ 2-2 draw against Italy. Marcello Trotta gave the visitors the lead before Leonardo Bittencourt equalised after half-time. Simone Verdi then restored Italy’s lead but Moritz Leitner levelled from the penalty spot with five minutes left.

Hector Bellerin was an unused substitute in Spain Under-21s’ 2-0 win against Norway. Munir El Haddadi opened the scoring before Gerard Deulofeu secured the win just two minutes later.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles played the final nine minutes of England Under-18s’ 1-0 win against Switzerland at St George’s Park. Newcastle United’s Adam Armstrong scored a 48th-minute winner to give England the advantage ahead of Saturday’s rematch.

Chris Willock was a 60th-minute substitute in England Under-17s’ 2-1 win against Romania. Ike Ugbo struck twice to ensure the under-17s finished their European qualifying fixtures with a 100 per cent record.

Krystian Bielik played the full 90 minutes of Poland Under-17s’ 1-0 win against Ireland. Pawel Kaczmarczyk scored the only goal of the game after 10 minutes to give the hosts the victory.
